The information and content in the Urologist Locator is provided solely by the medical professionals. This list was created to support persons who want to learn more about the PUL by helping connect them to medical professionals who currently have demonstrated qualifications, and interest in providing quality care with the PUL.
Criteria for individual doctors to be added to, or removed from, as appropriate, the Urologist Locator:
To be added to the Urologist Locator: The current requirement to be listed on the Urologist Locator consists of the completion of the UroLift Proficiency Pathway (surgeon training program which includes module training, didactic and hands-on device training). Doctors currently listed on the Urologist Locator who were trained prior to creation of the UroLift Proficiency Pathway, which launched March 2017, received equivalent surgeon training to the outlined requirements above. This training included: a) instructional didactic session; b) clinical video review; and c) hands-on UroLift System use. The current and prior training programs focus on identifying appropriate patient candidates, preparation and operation of the UroLift System, and surgical technique.
To remain on the Urologist Locator: A doctor must be an active user, which is defined as: The completion of at least 8 cases within the 12 month review period
The case completion criteria is assessed every twelve calendar months, with the review period occurring January 1 – December 31. (If a consultant commences within the calendar year review period, their review period will start from the date of completion of the UPP.)
Removal from the Urologist Locator: If a doctor does not complete at least 8 cases during the last 12 months audit period, they will be removed.
If removed, to be added back to the Urologist Locator: Complete a minimum of 5 cases within a 6 month review period.
